A proud moment for Windhoek and the Katutura community was celebrated on 5 June 2026 with the official opening of Goreangab Mall. The new shopping centre brings convenience, improved access, and economic opportunities to the area.

The grand opening brought together key stakeholders, business leaders and distinguished guests to officially inaugurate and celebrate the new shopping destination.

The occasion was honoured by Her Excellency, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, reflecting the importance of this development for economic growth and community development.
“As a nation, we must continue to encourage responsible investment that promotes inclusive economic growth and sustainable development. Economic progress should not be confined to city centres but must extend to the communities where ordinary Namibians live, work, and build their futures,” President Nandi-Ndaitwah said.
She further extended her commendation to Safland Property Group, Oryx Properties, the City of Windhoek, the contractors, workers and all stakeholders whose dedication and partnership made this project a reality.

Invited guests were also filled with excitement as they experienced the new mall firsthand and explored the wide range of stores and facilities.

The N$270 million investment in Goreangab represents more than just a shopping centre, it is a symbol of progress, transformation and investment in the future of Katutura.
